General Conditions of Entry

In these conditions, the raffle purchaser, contact or entry holder is referred to as “you”. HRI and InsightCFS are referred to as “us”, “we” or “our”, as the context requires.

Entries are available to eligible supporters in accordance with the applicable state and territory requirements. Entrants must be Australian residents or, if successful in a draw, be able to receive the prize in Australia.

We take care to sell entries to persons aged 18 years and over who understand the purchase and are able to provide payment.

Entries are validated for a draw after payment has been received. You may purchase entries on multiple occasions, subject to the applicable conditions and maximum entries.

Raffle Entry Sales

Entries in HRI raffles are sold to eligible members of the public and HRI supporters by telephone and online. Entry may be made by purchasing entries, pledging to pay for entries, or through participation as a Hero of the Heart member.

Entries may be mailed or emailed to you and are validated for the relevant draw once payment is received.

If a purchase is made by a young person, a person inclined to irresponsible gaming, or a vulnerable person, a refund may be provided where that person has not participated in a draw. Refunds after a draw are generally unavailable except in exceptional circumstances.

Payment for Entries

Entries may be paid for using a payment card, cheque, direct debit, BPAY or an available digital payment wallet.

Payments may be made in advance for up to one year, subject to a maximum of $600 per raffle.

To be eligible for entry into a raffle draw, payment must be received before the draw. Direct debit instructions should be received at least one week before the draw date to allow sufficient time for processing.

Payments falling due on a weekend or public holiday may be submitted on the preceding day. Declined payments may be retried within five days.

Where an alternative payment method has been provided, we may seek payment from that method to complete the transaction.

If a paid entry cannot be entered in a draw, it may be entered in the next available raffle.

Hero of the Heart Club

You may become a Hero of the Heart member by agreeing to make a chosen recurring payment towards consecutive HRI raffle draws.

Hero of the Heart members are entered into all HRI Raffle draws — up to four per year and into weekly Hero of the Heart draws based on the payments successfully received from them during that month.

Hero supporters receive 1 Hero entry for each $1 successfully paid each month for each Hero draw held in that month.

By agreeing to participate as a Hero of the Heart, you authorise the applicable banking service providers to automatically debit your payment card or nominated bank account on the agreed recurring basis.

You may cancel or amend your support level at any time before the next payment.

Tickets are allocated to Hero of the Heart supporters once per raffle period based on the total amount successfully banked each month during that raffle period.

Where a valid email address is available, entries will generally be sent electronically. Otherwise, entries may be sent to the supporter’s mailing address. Entries may be dispatched during the week leading up to the draw.

At the time of joining, you may authorise an automatic annual increase in your support of up to $5 per month, subject to the conditions applying to that increase.

Hero of the Heart membership may be cancelled by calling the Raffle Hotline on 1300 302 579 or emailing raffle@heartraffle.com.au .

Draw of Winners

Major raffle draws are held approximately every three months on the notified date at the advised draw location.

Hero of the Heart draws occur each Friday, or on the closest business day where a public holiday applies. Five draws are scheduled each month. In months containing only four Fridays, two draws may be conducted on the final Friday.

Winners are determined using random number generators. Major prizes are awarded in descending order of value to the first valid entries drawn, followed by subsequent prize draws.

The winning entry number, suburb and state are published on the HRI raffle winners page after the relevant draw. Winners' names and addresses are not published unless authorised by the winner.

Major prize winners are notified by registered mail and attempts may also be made to contact them by telephone or email where those details are available.

It is the supporter’s responsibility to notify the raffle office of changes to their contact details.

Donations

Where funds are received as a donation instead of, or in addition to, a raffle entry purchase, and the donation is $10 or more, a receipt will be issued.

HRI holds Australian Taxation Office tax-deductible gift status.

Prize Conditions

Prizes are not transferable and are subject to the conditions applicable to the particular prize.

Cash prizes are not available to residents of Victoria.

Delivery of small prizes, including cheques and gift cards, may be made by registered mail.

If HRI is unable to provide a prize as advertised, HRI reserves the right to provide a replacement prize of a similar type and value, subject to applicable regulatory requirements.

Taxes, liabilities and costs not expressly included with a prize remain the responsibility of the winner.

Prize values are stated in Australian dollars and promotional images are illustrative only.

Unclaimed Prizes

Unclaimed prizes are dealt with in accordance with the regulations applying in the state or territory in which the relevant prize winner resides.

A prize will be retained while reasonable attempts are made to notify or locate the winner. Where the winner cannot be located within the applicable claim period, details of any required redraw will be published on the raffle website.
